What am I doing wrong?

I'm pouring into a small piggy bank mold and whenever I do, the slip pulls away from the sides and caves in before it sets. The mold is bone dry, so I figured it would work better, but it's doing the opposite. Does anyone know what might be causing the collapse? Too dry, maybe?

Yeah, sounds like your mold might actually be too dry. Try misting it lightly next time or let it rest a bit between casts so it doesn't suck the moisture out too fast.

Yeah, that could definitely be the issue, if the mold is too dry, it can pull moisture out of the slip way too fast, causing it to shrink unevenly and collapse before it sets properly, try using a mold that's just lightly dry or has a bit of moisture left in it.
