I'm looking for a cone 6 matte satin glaze to use over underglaze and found Bill Kielb's Marcia's Matte recipe, but it calls for Amtalc-c98 , which sadly is no longer available. I have Fabi Talc as a substitute but cant find reliable analysis for it, and im unsure how it compares. Has anyone successfully adapted Marcia's Matte using Fabi Talc, or does anyone have tips for testing substitutions to save time?

Ok, I have not tried Fabi Talc in that recipe, but I would run a few small test tiles first since talc can shift the surface a lot. It is the only safe way to see how close you can get without wasting a full batch.
