Utility or just display?

Saw a funky pottery set that's supposedly for drinking, but I don't see how anyone would use it comfortably. Tiny jug with a narrow neck, do you just pour from it straight into those shallow dishes? And those cups are shaped more like decorative holders than drinking vessels. Maybe it's a cultural design I'm unfamiliar with but if anyone's got insight, I'd love to hear about it.

It looks like it's designed to be cool first, and useful second. It's more for show, but it still works, which I'm totally okay with. I've made some weird mug handles too that were more artistic than practical.

I was so focused on the practical use that I couldn't see the forest for the trees. Viewing it as functional art first changes my whole perspective. Since you're a potter yourself, do you find people who buy these artistic sets use them often or do they mostly end up as decoration?
