Best food-safe clear dipping glaze in powder form?

I'm diving back into pottery after ages and now have a small kiln! I'm making mugs and bowls for my kitchen and need a good, food-safe clear dipping glaze (powder is best) that fires around 1180-1220°C.

Got a trusted glaze recipe or brand you can suggest? I'd love to hear it

I got back into pottery last year and used that same temp range. I tried Laguna WC-520 and loved the finish, it was super clear over my speckled clay, no crazing, and it's held up great in daily use

That's awesome you're back into pottery, do you want something with a glossy or satin finish, and are you looking for a glaze that plays nice over colored slips or just bare clay?

Is it just me, or do a lot of food-safe commercial glazes still leave people guessing about actual safety, shouldn't manufacturers be required to publish full leach test data?

Laguna WC-520 works great and lasts at that temp. Pick what looks good and isn't slippery. It's still hard to know if food-safe claims are legit.

yep, I agree with the others that Laguna WC-600 is great, but for a reliable, hassle free option, you need to also check out Amaco LG10. They are both well regarded for being a clear, reliable, and food safe dipping glaze that's easy to mix and use
