accidetally did something cool and want to do it again

I tried wood fired stoneware with soda for the first time, and used too much soda.

Little flashing, got carbonization and runny green glaze instead. Surprisingly, I like it more than the one with "successful" flashing.

I accidentally did a cool thing, but my printmaking prof at the uni said it only counts if you can repeat it.

Wondering if aiming for carbonization/runny soda is seen as bad firing in ceramics. Want to show these eventually, art world can be picky.
Been solo in my studio, using this platform for feedback. Thoughts?

Can I intentionally get this carbonized/runny soda look again without it being "sloppy"?
Would be nice to hear about your experience in this

That accidental look sounds awesome but have you tried adjusting soda amount or firing temp to control carbonization?

hi! forget the word "sloppy." In the art world, what you do is called a controlled atmospheric firing.
A lot of ceramic artists intentionally push the limits to get unique, unpredictable results.
The fact that you want to replicate it makes it a conscious artistic choice
